Palo Pinto County Courthouse

A large piece of the projecting pediment broke and fell from the southeast corner of the Palo Pinto County Courthouse on an otherwise quiet Sunday in June, 2001. On its way down, a second piece was impacted, broke and fell to the ground as well.

Mobile Enterprises, Inc. was contacted regarding the possibility of repairing the damage. Because the two broken pieces were virtually intact, MEI determined that the fallen sections could be salvaged and put back in place.

Holes were drilled through the two pieces and into the remaining backup sections of stone. Stainless steel threaded rods and epoxy paste were used to pin the pieces back in place.

Damaged corners were patched with custom-colored repair mortar to match the adjacent stonework.
